I'm not a huge fan of their latest album, "Bone Palace Ballet: Grand Coda". So I was far to know that I would fall in love with their old "Illuminaudio" as well. It's just the proof that the departure of Brandon Bolmer (lead vocals), Jason Hale (lead guitar) and Tanner Wayne (drums) in 2012 hurt them to the point of killing their own project. One of the greatest post-hardcore album I ever heard.

Hip-hop / R&B / horrorcore / dubstep / WIERD! Five words that describe best Krizz Kaliko's fourth album. Ironically release by Strange Record, it's obviously the perfect choise of label for that "strange" sound and deep lyrics of his own. Definitely one kind of beat that will play in my iPod for the rest of the summer. As a song can have a calm and trance like sound, another can take off my ears!

Often compared to M.I.A., Catherine Kelleher aka Catcall, gives us an album far more versatile than his peers in the eyes of his fans. After making part of Kiosk for a few years, she is now recognized as an artist in her own right. What is far from displeasing to fans of such electro-pop! A nice discovery to me even though it's not necessarily my kind of artist and music usually.

Now for a 18th week at the top of the Billboard's Top 100 album, Gotye makes speak about him since its initial release in 2003. You can almost say that he was absolutely unknown compared to the commercial success he currently have with "Somebody That I Use To Know" all over the world. Probably some song we will begin to hear at fires this summer.

Army of Mushrooms is another very complete album to add in our collection of 100 000 albums (bit exaggerated) since 1996 from this Israeli band! Erez and Duvdev have once again released an album that will certainly stay to an 8th consecutive year in the top 100 DJ of DJ Mag. A cover of "The Pretender" (Foo Fighters) is even offered in a trance / psychedelic / goa version... kind of unexpected!

Impossible to deny that Silversun Pickups definitely arrived with their own sound for a third time! They're definitely one of very few bands in these years who can say that they change the "good old recipe" of a typical rock-alternative band. A bit less eye catching than Swoon, but still a very good album for SSPU!

I never thought negatively criticize this great band of my childhood, but must believe that the day has come. I was eager to hear new songs from this group, but not a bad cover of Times Like These (Foo Fighters) of this kind... A single line song without the touch of "the old Offspring" that makes all the beauty of their songs for ages now. I hope now that it was not a preview of a possible album.

The album starts right from the start with a purely instrumental track that gets you into the perfect ambience that makes you eager to hear the rest of the album. The Ontarian, Daniel Victor, gives us for the third time an album that finds the perfect balance between rock and enchanting pieces. Why an interest for this album still now? The second part of the album is due for this summer!

Unconditional fan of Alexisonfire for years already, these Canadian made two covers of two classic Australian rock tracks of two significant bands: The Dead Heart (Midnight Oil's) and I'm Stranded (The Saints), who goes too unnoticed among all of their albums since their formation in 2001. Enjoy it if you are a true Alexisonfire's fan! ;)

Joce: Actually I think that one came after. They did Bone palace, then they kicked Craig Owens out and made that awesome piece with Brandon Bolmer. Reply
